ETHANOL PRODUCTION IN INDIA 50% DILUTION IN PETROL:Roadmap ready to reach 50 percent ethanol content in petrol by 2030 Updated: Aug 29th, 2023 - Achieving the target would require a domestic supply of 30 billion liters of ethanol: saving $15 billion annually in foreign exchange. MUMBAI: Despite the many challenges facing the program of blending ethanol in petrol, the country's sugar mills seem enthusiastic about the program and plan to increase the percentage of ethanol blending in petrol to 50 percent by 2030. To achieve this target, the capacity of the country's distilleries will have to be increased and for this, an expenditure of Rs 50,000 crores may be incurred, according to a recent submission made by the industry to the government. This roadmap has been prepared by the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA). Government sources said that this submission was made by ISMA before the NITI Aayog. The government plans to take the percentage of ethanol in petrol to 20 percent by 2025, for which an expenditure of Rs 15,000 crore will have to be spent, said government sources. In the submission made before the government, it was requested to launch e-100 flex fuel vehicles (FFV) in the country which can run on 10-100 percent ethanol mix petrol. To achieve the target of 50 percent ethanol in petrol, 30 billion liters of ethanol will be required in the country, said government sources. Of this, 15 to 17 billion liters can be obtained from sugarcane-based molasses, while the rest will have to be obtained from grains like maize, rice and other sources. Due to fifty percent mixing, the foreign exchange of the country can save 15 billion dollars annually. This will not only reduce the import of petrol but also increase the income of farmers by approximately 1.80 lakh crores. Sources also said that once the proposed blending program is fully implemented, surplus sugar in the country can be diverted to ethanol production and India will not need to export sugar.

MEDICAL SCIENCE NEWS UPDATES :દુનિયામાં પહેલી જ આવી ઘટના - ડો. હરિપ્રિયા બાંદીએ અળશિયાં જેવો કીડો 64 વર્ષનાં ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયન મહિલાના મગજમાંથી ખૂબ ધીરજપૂર્વક કાઢી લીધો કેનબેરા : ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયામાં માની ન શકાય તેવી ઘટના બની છે. તબીબોએ ૩ ઇંચ લાંબો અળશિયાં જેવો કીડો એક ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયન મહિલાનાં મગજમાંથી કાઢી લીધો છે. આ માહિતી આપતાં સીએનએન જણાવે છે કે ન્યૂરો સર્જન ડો. હરિપ્રિયા બાંદીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે હું રોજ ગાર્ડનિંગ પણ કરૃં છું. આ બાગકામ દરમિયાન હું ઘણીવાર વિચિત્ર અને ભયજનક કીડાઓ પણ જોઉં છું. પરંતુ તે જે કીડો મેં (તે મહિલાનાં મગજમાંથી દૂર કર્યો તે) તે એ પૂર્વે કદી જોયો નથી. પોતાની સર્જરીની વાત કહેતાં ન્યૂરોસર્જન ડો. હરિપ્રિયા બાંદીએ કહ્યું કે, તે મહિલાના મગજમાં ત્રણ ઇંચ લાંબો અળશિયા જેવો કીડો જોઈ હું ઘડીભર હેબતાઈ ગઈ હતી. પછી ધીમેથી ધીરજથી મગજને ન વાગે તે રીતે ફોર્સેપ (ચીપીયા) દ્વારા તે અળશિયાં જેવા કીડાને બહાર કાઢ્યો ત્યારે તે ફોર્સેપ ઉપર વીંટળાઈ ગયો હતો. આ અંગે ઇન્ફેશ્યસ ડીસીઝ એક્ષપર્ટ ડૉ. સંજય સેનાનાયકે કહ્યું હતું કે, તે કીડો જોઈ સૌ કોઈને તે વિષે જિજ્ઞાાસા લાગી કે આટલો મોટો કીડો મગજ સુધી પહોંચી જ કઈ રીતે શક્યો ? આ કીડો (બરણીમાં ફોર્માલ્ડી હાઈડવામાં પાણીમાં) લઈ એક જુનિયર તબીબ રિસર્ચ લેબોરેટરીમાં પહોંચ્યો. તેણે આ કીડો ઓફીડાસ્કેરિસ રોબર્ટસી પ્રકારનો હોવાનું જણાવતાં કહ્યું હતું કે તે સામાન્યતઃ પાયથોન (અજગર)માં જોવા મળે છે કે મોટા સર્પના પેટમાં જોવા મળે છે. સસ્તન પ્રાણીઓનાં શરીરમાં જોવા મળતાં જ નથી. તેમ ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયન યુનિવર્સિટી અને કેનવેરા હોસ્પિટલના તબીબોએ પણ જણાવ્યું હતું. આ ઘટના અંગે વધુ ઊંડાઈથી અભ્યાસ કરતાં જાણવા મળ્યું હતું કે, એ મહિલા ન્યૂ સાઉથ વેલ્સના દક્ષિણ પૂર્વ વિભાગમાં રહે છે. તેને સરિસૃપો સાથે તો કોઈ સીધો સંપર્ક હતો જ નહીં. પરંતુ તે એ વિસ્તારમાં ઉગતાં ખાદ્ય ઘાસ લઈ તે રાંધી તે ભોજનમાં લેતા હતા. હવે તે ખાદ્ય ઘાસ ઉપર પેલા સર્પ કે નાના અજગરની વિષ્ટા સાથે આ પરોપજીવીનાં ઈંડાં આવી જાય છે. હવે તે ઘાસ રાંધતાં પહેલા તે મહિલાએ ભૂલથી પોતાનો હાથ ચાટયો હશે. તે સાથે તે ઝીણા ઇંડાં તેનાં પેટમાં ગયા હશે. જેમાથી લાર્વા બન્યા હશે અને લાર્વામાંથી કીડો (પહેલા તો તદ્દન નાનો) બન્યો હશે. આથી આ મહિલાને પહેલા નોશ્યા, વોમીટ, ડાયેરિયા થતાં તેને પેટનો સખત દુખાવો પણ રહેતો. કારણ કે તે કીડો આંતરડા સાથે ચોંટી ગયો હતો. તેને કફ પણ થતો, તાવ આવતો, રાત્રે પ્રસ્વેદ પણ થતો. તે પછી માથાનો દુખાવો શરૂ થયો. એમઆરઆઈ કરતાં મગજના જમણી બાજુના ભાગમાં કશું અસામાન્ય જણાયું. તે પછી ન્યૂરોસર્જન પાસે સર્જરી કરાવતા આ કીડો મળી આવ્યો. તે કીડો ઝીણો લાર્વા હશે ત્યારે લોહી સાથે મગજ સુધી પહોંચી ગયો હશે. તે જ સંભાવના છે. ન માની શકાય તેવી આ વાત છે તેમ કહેતાં, ડો. સેનાનાયકે જણાવ્યું હતું કે વનસ્પતિ અને પશુ-પ્રાણીમાંથી પણ ચેપ લાગી શકે છે. તેમાંએ પશુ-પ્રાણીઓ જે વિસ્તારમાં વધુ પ્રમાણમાં હોય ત્યાં સાવચેતી રાખવી અનિવાર્ય છે. પરોપજીવી જીવો ફેફસામાં અને યકૃતમાં પણ પહોંચી જાય છે.

BITCOIN CRYPTOCURRENCY UPDATE LIVE :મુંબઈ : બિટકોઈનના હાજર ભાવ આધારિત એકસચેન્જ ટ્રેડેડ ફન્ડ (ઈટીએફ) શરૂ કરવાની ગ્રેસ્કેલની અરજી નકારી કાઢવાનું અમેરિકાની સિક્યુરિટીઝ અને એકસચેન્જ કમિશન (એસઈસી)નું પગલું ભૂલભરેલું હોવાના અમેરિકાની કોર્ટના નિરીક્ષણને પગલે છેલ્લા ચોવીસ કલાકમાં બિટકોઈનની આગેવાની હેઠળ ક્રિપ્ટો માર્કેટસમાં સુધારો જોવા મળ્યો છે. બિટકોઈનના ભાવ ૧૫૦૦ ડોલરથી વધુ ઉછળીિ ૨૭૪૫૦ ડોલર મુકાતો હતો જ્યારે એથરમ ૧૭૦૦ ડોલરની સપાટીને પાર કરી ગયો હતો. બિટકોઈનનો ભાવ બે સપ્તાહની ઊંચી સપાટીએ બોલાતો હતો. ક્રિપ્ટોસની વૈશ્વિક માર્કેટ કેપ વધી ૧.૦૯ ટ્રિલિયન ડોલર પહોંચી ગઈ હતી. ડિજિટલ એસેટ મેનેજર ગ્રેસ્કેલ અમેરિકાની નિયામક સામે કેસ જીતી ગઈ હોવાના અહેવાલ બાદ ક્રિપ્ટો માર્કેટસમાં ઉછાળો આવ્યો હતો. ઈટીએફ શરૂ કરવાની ગ્રેસ્કેલની અરજી નકારી કાઢવાનો એસઈસીનો નિર્ણય ખોટો હોવાનું અમેરિકન કોર્ટે નિરીક્ષણ કર્યું હતું. આ અહેવાલ બાદ બિટકોઈન ઉપરાંત અન્ય ક્રિપ્ટોસ જેમ ડોજકોઈન, બીએનબી, એકસઆરપી વગેરે પણ ઉછળ્યા હતા. કોર્ટના નિરીક્ષણને પગલે ક્રિપ્ટોસ માર્કેટના ખેલાડીઓમાં હકારાત્મક આશીર્વાદ જોવા મળ્યો હતો. આ નિર્ણયને કારણે અન્ય બીજી કેટલીક મોટી કંપનીઓ પણ બિટકોઈન ઈટીએફ શરૂ કરવા અરજી કરશે તેવી શકયતા નકારાતી નથી એમ ક્રિપ્ટોકરન્સીઝ બજારના એક ખેલાડીએ જણાવ્યું હતું. કોર્ટના નિરીક્ષણનો અર્થ એવો નથી કે ગ્રેસ્કેલને ઈટીએફ લોન્ચ કરવાની પરવાનગી મળી ગઈ છે એમ એક ટ્રેડરે જણાવ્યું હતું. એસઈસીએે અરજી નકારી કાઢવાના આપેલા કારણો કોર્ટને કદાચ ગળે ઊતર્યા નથી, માટે એસઈસી અરજી પર ફરી વિચારણા કરી શકે છે. જો કે સમાપ્ત થઈ રહેલા ઓગસ્ટમાં કેન્દ્રીત એકસચેન્જો પર એકત્રિત વોલ્યુમ અંદાજે ૪૦૦ અબજ ડોલર જેટલું રહ્યું છે જે ૨૦૨૦ના ડિસેમ્બર બાદ સૌથી નીચું રહ્યું છે.

UAE FLIGHT EMMERGENCY LANDING:તેલ અવીવ,તા.30 ઓગસ્ટ 2023,બુધવાર હિન્દ મહાસાગરમાં આવેલા ટાપુ દેશ સેશેલ્સમાંથી ઈઝરાયેલના નાગરિકોને લઈને પરત ફરી રહેલા એક વિમાનને સાઉદી અરબમાં ઈમરજન્સી લેન્ડિંગ કરવાની ફરજ પડી હતી. જેના પગલે વિમાનમાં બેઠેલા લોકોના જીવ તાળવે ચોંટી ગયા હતા. એ પછી મંગળવારે આ વિમાને તેલ અવીવ માટે ઉડાન ભરી હતી. ઈઝરાયેલના પીએમે સંકટ સમયે મદદ કરવા માટે અને સાઉદી અરબ સાથેના સબંધોને સુમેળભર્યા બનાવવા માટે સાઉદી અરબનો આભાર પણ માન્યો છે. વિમાનમાં બેઠેલા મુસાફરોનુ કહેવુ હતુ કે, કેબિનમાં બળવાની તીવ્ર વાસ ફેલાઈ ગઈ હતી. એ પછી પાયલોટે સૂચના આપી હતી કે, આપણે ઈમરજન્સી લેન્ડિંગ કરીને સાઉદી અરબમાં થોડા સમય માટે રોકાવુ પડશે. સાઉદી અરબ એવો દેશ છે જેને ઈઝરાયેલ સાથે કોઈ હવાઈ સંપર્ક નથી. બંને દેશો વચ્ચે સત્તાવાર રીતે રાજદ્વારી સબંધ પણ નથી. એ પછી વિમાને સાઉદી અરબમાં ઈમરજન્સી લેન્ડિંગ કર્યુ હતુ અને વિમાન રનવે પર કલાકો સુધી ઉભુ રહી ગયુ હતુ. જેના કારણે ઈઝરાયેલમાં પણ તણાવ વધી રહ્યો હતો. જોકે સાઉદી અરબના સુરક્ષાદળોએ વહેલી તકે ઈઝરાયેલના નાગરિકોને એક હોટલમાં પહોંચાડ્યા હતા. વિમાનની ખામી ઠીક નહીં થતા બીજા વિમાનને મોકલવામાં આવ્યુ હતુ અને તે મુસાફરોને લઈને તેલ અવીવ પહોંચ્યુ હતુ. તેમાંથી ઉતરેલા ઈઝરાયેલના નાગરિકોએ કહ્યુ હતુ કે, એ સમય બહુ ડરામણો હતો પણ સાઉદીએ અમારુ બહુ સારુ સ્વાગત કર્યુ હતુ. સાઉદીના લોકોએ હિબ્રુ ભાષામાં અમારુ અભિવાદન કર્યુ હતુ અને અમારી સારી આગતા સ્વાગતા કરી હતી. દરમિયાન ઈઝરાયેલના વડાપ્રધાન નેતન્યાહૂએ સાઉદી અરબ સાથે સબંધો સુધારવાનુ નક્કી કરેલુ છે અને આ ઘટનાનો તેમણે ફાયદો ઉઠાવીને સાઉદી અરબનો જાહેર આભાર માનીને કહ્યુ હતુ કે, એક સારા પડોશી તરીકે સાઉદી અરબે જે ભાવના દર્શાવી છે તેનુ અમે સન્માન કરીએ છે.

CHINA-JAPAN RELATIONS UPDATE: GUJARATI TO ENGLISH:બિજિંગ,તા.30 ઓગસ્ટ 2023,બુધવાર જાપાન અને ચીન વચ્ચેની તકરાર દિવસને દિવસે વધારે ગંભીર બની રહી છે. જાપાન અને ચીન વચ્ચેની દુશ્મની દાયકાઓ જૂની છે. તેમા પણ જાપાને પોતાના ફુકુશીમા રિએક્ટરમાંથી રેડિઓએક્ટિવ પદાર્થોવાળુ ઝેરી પાણી દરિયામાં છોડ્યા બાદ ચીન વધારે અકળાયુ છે. ચીન તરફથી જાપાનના પાણી છોડવા સામે વિરોધ નોંધાવાયો હતો. જાપાનને ચીનમાંથી ધમકી આપતા કોલ્સ પણ મળ્યા હતા . જોકે 24 ઓગસ્ટથી જાપાને પાણી છોડવાનુ શરુ કરી દીધુ છે. જેના પ્રત્યાઘાત રૂપે ચીનમાં મોજૂદ જાપાનના દૂતાવાસ તેમજ સ્કૂલો પર હુમલા થયા છે. પથ્થરો ફેંકવાની ઘટના પણ બની છે અને તેની સામે જાપાનના પીએમ ફુમિયો કિશિદાએ નારાજગી વ્યક્ત કરી છે. તેમણે કહ્યુ છે કે, ચીનમાં અમારા દૂતાવાસ તેમજ સ્કૂલો પર પથ્થરો ફેંકવામાં આવ્યા છે. હું આ પ્રકારના હુમલાની નિંદા કરુ છું. અમે ચીનના જાપાન સ્થિત રાજદૂતને તલબ કર્યા છે. ચીન પોતાના નાગરિકોને શાંતિ જાળવી રાખવા માટે અપીલ કરે. બીજી તરફ જાપાનના ચીન સ્થિત દૂતાવાસની સુરક્ષા આ ઘટના બાદ વધારી દેવામાં આવી છે. જાપાને ચીનમાં રહેતા પોતાના નાગરિકોને સતર્ક રહેવા માટે અને જાહેરમાં જાપાની ભાષાનો ઉપયોગ નહીં કરવા માટે પણ સલાહ આપી છે. જાપાને ચીનને ટકોર કરી છે કે, ફુકુશિમા રિએકટરમાંથી રેડિયોએક્ટિવ પાણી છોડવા અંગે ચીન પોતાના નાગરિકોને યોગ્ય જાણકારી આપી રહ્યુ નથી. તેના કારણે ચીનના નાગરિકો ગેરમાર્ગે દોરવાઈ રહ્યા છે. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે, આ એ જ ફુકુશિમા રિએકટર છે જેના પ્લાન્ટમાં 2011માં જાપાનમાં આવેલી સુનામી વખતે વિસ્ફોટ થયો હતો અને એ પછી તેમાં 133 કરોડ લિટર રેડિઓએક્ટિવ પાણી જમા છે. જેને યુએનની સંમતિથી હવે જાપાને તબક્કાવાર દરિયામાં છોડવાનુ શરૂ કર્યુ છે.

MASSIVE ATTACK IN UKRAINE: GUJARATI TO ENGLISH TRANSLATE:યુક્રેન, મોસ્કો : કીવને વિશેષતઃ યુક્રેનના પ્રમુખ ઝેલેન્સ્કીને ખતમ કરવા પુતિને જાણે કે શપથ લીધી છે. ગઇકાલે રશિયાએ કીવ ઉપર પ્રચંડ મિસાઇલ એટેક કર્યા હતા. પરિણામે કીવમાં અનેક મકાનો તૂટી પડયાં હતાં તેથી ઓછામાં ઓછી બે વ્યકિતઓ મારી ગઈ હતી અને ઘણાને ઇજાઓ થઈ હતી. આમ છતાં યુક્રેન નમતું જોખવા તૈયાર નથી તેણે વળતા હુમલા શરૂ કરી દીધા છે. તો બીજી તરફ રશિયા તરફથી આવતાં ૨૦ મિસાઈલ તોડી પાડયા હતા. તેટલું જ નહીં પરંતુ રશિયાના ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમ ભાગે આવેલા વિમાન મથકે રહેલા મીલીટરી- ટ્રાન્સપોર્ટ પ્લેનને તોડી પાડયા હતાં. બીજી તરફ રશિયાએ પણ પૂર જોશથી હુમલા દ્વારા દક્ષિણ પશ્ચિમે આવેલા યોકેટસા બંદરને ભારે નુકસાન પહોંચાડયું હતું. તેમ તે વિસ્તારના ગવર્નર ઓલે કીપેરે જણાવ્યું હતું. જયારે રશિયાના પોસ્કોવ પ્રદેશમાં રહેતાં રશિયાનાં ઇલ્યુશિયન-૭૬ પ્રકારનાં ૪ મીલીટરી ટ્રાન્સપોર્ટ એર ક્રાફટસને ડ્રોન વિમાનો દ્વારા ક્ષતિગ્રસ્ત કરાયા હતાં, તેમ રશિયાની સત્તાવાર ન્યૂઝ એજન્સી તાસ જણાવે છે. આ ઉપરાંત રશિયામાં ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમે રહેલા વિમાનઘરો ઉપરથી તમામ ફલાઇટનું ચઢાણ ઉતરાણ કે આવન-જાવન બુધવારે બંધ કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. આ મોસ્કોવ વિસ્તાર નાટોના સભ્ય તેવા ઇસ્ટોનિયા અને લેટવિયાને સ્પર્શીને આવેલો છે તે યુક્રેનથી તો ૮૦૦ કિ.મી. દૂર છે. યુક્રેને રશિયા ઉપર વળતા પ્રહારો શરૂ કરતાં તેનાં દળોએ રશિયાના દક્ષિણ પૂર્વના વિસ્તારોની કિલ્લેબંધીઓ તોડી નાખી છે. અને તે ફોર્ટી-ફીકેશનમાં પડેલો ગેપ વધારવા પ્રયત્નો કરતું હતું ત્યાં રશિયાનો સામો હુમલો શરૂ થયો. ડોનબાસ વિસ્તારથી નીપર નદીના મુખ્ય પ્રદેશ સુધીના વિશાળ વિસ્તારમાં ચાલી રહેલા રશિયાના હુમલાથી યુક્રેનનાં સૈન્યની આગેકૂચ અટકી ગઈ છે. તે રક્ષણાત્મક સ્થિતિમાં મુકાઈ ગયું છે. આમ ધીમે ધીમે આ યુદ્ધ યુક્રેનને છોલી રહ્યું છે. આથી યુક્રેનના સાથી તેવા પશ્ચિમના દેશો પણ મુંઝાઈ રહ્યા છે. બીજી તરફ પુતિનનો હાથ ઉપર આવતો જાય છે. આ યુદ્ધે યુક્રેનને વધુ થકવી દીધું છે, તેમ લાગે છે.

TAIWAN IS ACCEPTED AS AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY:હવે ચીન શું કરશે ? - બ્રિટનનાં હાઉસ ઓફ કોમન્સની કમીટી ફોર ફોરેન અફેર્સ દ્વારા પ્રકાશિત એક રીપોર્ટમાં તાઈવાનને સ્વતંત્ર દેશ જણાવાયો છે લંડન : બ્રિટનનાં હાઉસ ઓફ કોમન્સની વિદેશી બાબતો અંગેની સમિતિએ બુધવારે પ્રકાશિત કરેલા એક રીપોર્ટમાં તાઈવાનને સ્વતંત્ર દેશ તરીકે દર્શાવવામાં આવ્યો છે. તેથી બ્રિટન અને ચીનના સંબંધો બગડી શકે તેમ છે. બ્રિટનના વિદેશ મંત્રી જેમ્સ ક્લેવર્લીની આ સપ્તાહે, યોજાનારી ચીનની મુલાકાત પૂર્વે બંને દેશોમાં તંગદિલી પેદા થઇ શકે છે. વાસ્તવમાં બ્રિટિશ સંસદે સત્તાવાર રીતે પોતાના અધિકૃત દસ્તાવેજમાં તાઈવાનને સ્વતંત્ર દેશ તરીકે જણાવવામાં આવ્યો છે. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે ચીન તાઈવાનને સ્વતંત્ર દેશ તરીકે સ્વીકારતું જ નથી. તે સતત કહે છે કે તાઈવાન ચીનનો જ એક પ્રાંત છે. દુનિયાના માત્ર ૧૩ દેશો જ, બૈજિંગને બદલે તાઈવાનને સ્વતંત્ર દેશ તરીકે સ્વીકારે છે. ત્યારે બ્રિટનનાં હાઉસ ઓફ કોમન્સની વગદાર સમિતિ કમીટી ફોર ફોરેન અફેર્સ દ્વારા બુધવારે પ્રકાશિત કરાયેલા એક રીપોર્ટમાં તાઈવાનને એક સ્વતંત્ર દેશ તરીકે જણાવાવમાં આવ્યો છે. આ નિર્ણયથી ચીન અને બ્રિટનના સંબંધો બગડવાની સંભાવના છે. બ્રિટનની કોન્ઝર્વેટીવ પાર્ટીની કમીટીમાં અધ્યક્ષા એલિઝિયા કિર્ન્સનાં જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણે આવું પહેલી જ વાર બન્યું છે કે, બ્રિટિશ પાર્લામેન્ટે તેના રીપોર્ટમાં આ પ્રકારની ઘોષણા કરી હોય. કિર્ન્સે પોલિટિકોને જણાવ્યું હતું કે, 'અમે ચીનની સ્થિતિનો તો સ્વીકાર કરીએ જ છીએ પરંતુ વિદેશી બાબતોની કમીટી તરીકે, અમે તેનો સ્વીકાર નથી કરી શક્તા. તે જરૂરી છે કે, વિદેશ મંત્રી દ્રઢતાપૂર્વક અને સ્પષ્ટ રીતે તાઈવાનની સાથે ઉભા રહે, અને સ્પષ્ટ કરે કે અમે તાઈવાનના અધિકારોને પુષ્ટિ આપીશું જ. કિર્ન્સે આગળ કહ્યું હતું કે આ પ્રતિબધ્ધતા માત્ર બ્રિટિશ મૂલ્યોને જ અનુરૂપ છે તેવું નથી, પરંતુ તે દુનિયાભરનાં નિરંકુશ શાસનો માટે એક મેસેજ સમાન છે કે (કોઇનું) સાર્વભૌમત્વ, હિંસા કે જબરજસ્તી દ્વારા આંચકી ન લઇ શકાય. આ કમીટીના રીપોર્ટમાં તાઈવાનનું સમર્થન કરવામાં પર્યાપ્ત સાહસ ન દર્શાવવા માટે સરકારની ટીકા કરવામાં આવી છે. સાથે દુનિયામાં ૯૦ ટકા સેમી કન્ડક્ટર સપ્લાય કરનાર દ્વીપ ઉપર બૈજિંગની સૈન્ય કાર્યવાહી તથા આર્થિક નાકાબંધી રોકવા માટે સહયોગીઓની સાથે પ્રતિબંધોની તૈયારીઓ શરૂ કરવા માટે આહ્વાન આપવામાં આવ્યું છે. સાથે જણાવાયું છે કે, ચીનની કોમ્યુનિસ્ટ પાર્ટીને નારાજ કરવા અંગે જો વધુ પડતા સતર્ક રહેતા હોતા તો આપણે તાઈવાન સાથે ઘનિષ્ઠ સંબંધ બાંધી જ લીધા હોત.

So click by click, a largely unregulated army of humans is transforming the raw data into AI feedstock. In the Philippines, one of the world’s biggest destinations for outsourced digital work, former employees say that at least 10,000 of these workers do this labor on a platform called Remotasks, which is owned by the $7 billion San Francisco start-up Scale AI. Scale AI has paid workers at extremely low rates, routinely delayed or withheld payments and provided few channels for workers to seek recourse, according to interviews with workers, internal company messages and payment records, and financial statements. Rights groups and labor researchers say Scale AI is among a number of American AI companies that have not abided by basic labor standards for their workers abroad. On the island of Mindanao, the coastal city of Cagayan de Oro has become a hub for data annotation used for AI. (Martin San Diego for The Washington Post) Of 36 current and former freelance workers interviewed, all but two said they’ve had payments from the platform delayed, reduced or canceled after completing tasks. The workers, known as “taskers,” said they often earn far below the minimum wage — which in the Philippines ranges from $6 to $10 a day depending on region — though at times they do make more than the minimum. Scale AI, which does work for firms like Meta, Microsoft and generative AI companies like Open AI, the creator of ChatGPT, says on its website that it is “proud to pay rates at a living wage.” In a statement, Anna Franko, a Scale AI spokesperson, said the pay system on Remotasks “is continually improving” based on worker feedback and that “delays or interruptions to payments are exceedingly rare.” But on an internal messaging platform for Remotasks, which The Washington Post accessed in July, notices of late or missing payments from supervisors were commonplace. On some projects, there were multiple notices in a single month. Sometimes, supervisors told workers payments were withheld because work was inaccurate or late. Other times, supervisors gave no explanation. Attempts to track down lost payments often went nowhere, workers said — or worse, led to their accounts being deactivated. Doy, who recently worked for Scale AI in the Philippines, says complaints about pay issues were ignored by the data annotation company. Jackie, 26, said he worked three days on a project that he thought would earn him $50, and he got $12. Benz, 36, said he’d racked up more than $150 in payments when he was suddenly booted from the platform. He never got the money, he said. Paul, 25, said he’s lost count of how much money he’s been owed over three years of working on Remotasks. Like other current Remotasks freelancers, Paul spoke on the condition of being identified only by first name to avoid being expelled from the platform. He started “tasking” full time in 2020 after graduating from university. He was once excited to help build AI, he said, but these days, he mostly feels embarrassed by how little he earns. “The budget for all this, I know it’s big,” Paul said, staring into his hands at a coffee shop in Cagayan de Oro. “None of that is trickling down to us.” Remotasks workers say payments, which are meant to be received after a job is finished, are sometimes withheld or delayed without explanation. More than 2 million people in the Philippines perform this type of “crowdwork,” according to informal government estimates, as part of AI’s vast underbelly. While AI is often thought of as human-free machine learning, the technology actually relies on the labor-intensive efforts of a workforce spread across much of the Global South and often subject to exploitation.

This will be a positive step in the trend towards multipolarity, but it also may prove a danger to cohesion within the group of rising nations. Together with Brazil, they formed BRIC as an informal grouping in 2006. BRIC became a more formal entity and began holding annual summits in 2009. BRIC became BRICS when South Africa entered the grouping in 2010. This year’s BRICS summit took place in South Africa from August 22–24. The most important outcome of the summit was the decision to expand the group. Six new members will join on January 1, 2024: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, Argentina, Iran and Ethiopia. The original membership has just been doubled and this is a transformative outcome. Originally, the RIC group was a response to the emergence of a unipolar world following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Then, the BRIC nations, four economically rising powers from three continents, shared an agenda. All four wanted to make the global order more democratic and equitable. When BRICS emerged, these powers wanted a greater role of developing countries in the new world order. At least three of the powers—India, Brazil and South Africa—sought to reform the postwar UN system, including its political and financial institutions. These emerging powers wanted to make the UN the centerpiece of a reinvigorated multilateralism. End of the unipolar moment This multilateral approach is becoming all the more important as the world exits its unipolar moment. Although the US remains the world’s leading political, military and economic power, it is no longer able to unilaterally dictate the rules of the international system. It failed to change the Middle Eastern balance of power in its favor by military intervention in the Iraq War or by indirect means during the Arab Spring. The disastrous end of its War on Terror, exemplified by the retreat from Afghanistan, has reduced its international primacy. The US now sees the need to strengthen its alliances in Europe and Asia to retain its global preeminence. This includes the reinvigoration of NATO in Europe, as well as the alliances with Japan, South Korea and the Philippines in Asia. The US is pulling the team together as new tensions—with potentially dire consequences for global peace and security—have pitted it against both Russia and China. It has succeeded in getting its European partners to throw their full support into a common effort against Russia and acknowledge that China is a systemic threat as well. Furthermore, the US has used its financial power to the hilt to isolate Russia and cause its economic collapse. Washington has also openly subscribed to the idea of regime change in Russia, a peer nuclear power. It is not only Russia but also China that lies in American crosshairs. The US now sees China as its principal longer-term adversary and is taking aggressive steps to thwart China’s technological rise. Tensions between great powers are straining the international system. Western sanctions on Russia have been draconian. In particular, the US has weaponized the dollar-based global financial system. The war in Ukraine has also had deeply disruptive effects on the supply of food, fertilizers and energy to developing countries. The equity of a global order based on rules set by the powerful is now in serious question. This order does not emanate from the collective will of the international community but is defined and determined by the West. RIC, BRIC and then BRICS were all about multipolarity. These non-Western powers wanted a seat at the top table. Yet the dominant Western powers who champion human rights and democracy are not ready to cede control. In fact, the West imposes its agenda on these powers through championing supposedly “universal values” and does not want to give up its traditional hegemony. Naturally, the BRICS nations oppose this hegemony and want a redistribution of global power. The West has been locked in a confrontation with Russia and China. Both these powers are responding by expanding BRICS. Hence, they have added six new members to the group. Some of them, like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Argentina have historic links with the US. Yet their joining BRICS demonstrates that they are willing to reduce their dependence on the West. These nations want a counterbalance to the US and seek a rebalancing of the global political and economic system, which does not have such punitive costs for transgression. The inclusion of new members into the BRICS club is telling. Iran is already a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and close not only to China but also Russia. Iran has long been at loggerheads with the US and is subject to strong Western sanctions. Ethiopia is wracked by civil war and prolonged drought. Yet the country has made it to the club on the basis of its increasingly close relationship with China. Clearly, the BRICS expansion sends a loud and clear signal. BRICS has welcomed powers that challenge the US and are close to China and Russia. What were the criteria and what does BRICS expansion mean? The entry of new members to the BRICS club raises a key question. What were the criteria? Were they GDP size or growth prospects or population size or geographic location or regional influence or some combination of these factors? It turns out that, except for energy exporters Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the other new countries face serious economic problems. Egypt is the most populous Arab nation with the largest military in the region. Yet its economy is in an acute crisis. Argentina, the second-largest Latin American country, is in yet another economic crisis. Their addition does not exactly strengthen the BRICS club economically. Importantly, no East or South Asian country joined the BRICS club. Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE lie in Asia but are part of the Middle East. Indonesia withdrew its candidacy at the last moment. It seems to be betting instead on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). BRICS is a geographically dispersed club while ASEAN is a cohesive organization with shared interests. External pressure by the US might also have played a role in Indonesia staying away from BRICS. When it comes to African countries, Nigeria would have been a more credible addition than Ethiopia. However, the country did not apply for membership. Neither did Mexico. Algeria applied for membership but does not seem to have gotten in. Clearly, the expansion of BRICS has been lopsided. Ethiopia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Iran are clustered together geographically. Only Argentina seems to stand out. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa declared: “We have tasked our Foreign Ministers to further develop the BRICS partner country model and a list of prospective partner countries and report by the next Summit.” Yet it is unclear what are the criteria for the expansion. It seems that new members have been admitted to the BRICS club on an ad hoc basis. While expansion may boost multipolarity, it risks making the new BRICS+ club less cohesive. India and China have deep differences. Their militaries are in a standoff at the border. Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shia Iran are not exactly the best of friends. Brazil and Argentina are rivals.

WHAT IS SOFT LANDING AND RUF LANDING:ચંદ્રયાન-3ના લેન્ડરનું 4 તબક્કામાં સોફ્ટ લેન્ડિંગ ઈસરોએ 23 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ સાંજે 5.44 કલાકે 30 કિમીની ઊંચાઈએથી ઓટોમેટિક લેન્ડિંગ પ્રક્રિયા શરૂ કરી અને આગામી 20 મિનિટમાં આ સફર પૂર્ણ કર્યો. ચંદ્રયાન-3એ 40 દિવસમાં 21 વખત પૃથ્વી અને 120 વખત ચંદ્રની પરિક્રમા કરી. ચંદ્રયાને ચંદ્ર સુધી 3.84 લાખ કિમીનું અંતર કાપવા માટે 55 લાખ કિમીની યાત્રા કરી. 1. રફ બ્રેકિંગ તબ્બકો: લેન્ડર લેન્ડિંગ સાઇટથી 750 કિમી દૂર હતું. ઊંચાઈ 30 કિમી અને ઝડપ 6,000 કિમી/કલાક. આ તબક્કો સાડા 11 મિનિટ સુધી ચાલ્યો હતો. આ દરમિયાન વિક્રમ લેન્ડરના સેન્સર્સ કેલિબ્રેટ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. લેન્ડરને 30 કિલોમીટરની ઉંચાઈથી 7.4 કિલોમીટરના અંતરે હોરિઝોન્ટલ સ્થિતિમાં લાવવામાં આવ્યું. 2. એટિટ્યૂડ હોલ્ડિંગ તબક્કો: વિક્રમે ચંદ્રની સપાટીની તસવીર લીધો અને એ પહેલાંથી અસ્તિત્વમાં રહેલા ફોટા સાથે સરખામણી કરી. ચંદ્રયાન-2ના સમયે આ તબક્કો 38 સેકન્ડનો હતો, આ વખતે એને ઘટાડીને 10 સેકન્ડ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. 10 સેકન્ડમાં ચંદ્ર પરથી વિક્રમ લેન્ડરની ઊંચાઈ 7.4 કિમીથી ઘટીને 6.8 કિમી થઈ ગઈ છે. 3. ફાઇન બ્રેકિંગ તબક્કો: આ તબક્કો 175 સેકન્ડ સુધી ચાલ્યો, જેમાં લેન્ડરની ગતિ શૂન્ય થઈ ગઈ. વિક્રમ લેન્ડરની સ્થિતિ સંપૂર્ણપણે વર્ટિકલ કરવામાં આવી. સપાટીથી વિક્રમ લેન્ડરની ઊંચાઈ લગભગ 1 કિલોમીટર રહી 4. ટર્મિનલ ડિસેન્ટ: આ તબક્કામાં લેન્ડરને લગભગ 150 મીટરની ઊંચાઈ પર લાવવામાં આવ્યું હતું. જ્યારે બધું બરાબર થઈ ગયું, ત્યારે ચંદ્રની સપાટી પર સોફ્ટ લેન્ડિંગ કરાવાયું. આ વીડિયોમાં રોવર શિવશક્તિ પોઈન્ટ પર ફરતું જોવા મળે છે. આ વીડિયોમાં રોવર શિવશક્તિ પોઈન્ટ પર ફરતું જોવા મળે છે. ચંદ્રયાન-3 મિશન 14 દિવસનું છે ચંદ્રયાન-3 મિશન 14 દિવસનું છે. ખરેખર ચંદ્ર પર 14 દિવસ-રાત અને 14 દિવસ પ્રકાશ રહે છે. જ્યારે અહીં રાત હોય છે, ત્યારે તાપમાન -100 ડીગ્રી સેલ્સિયસથી નીચે જાય છે. ચંદ્રયાનનું લેન્ડર અને રોવર એમની સોલર પેનલથી પાવર જનરેટ કરી રહ્યા છે. એટલા માટે તેઓ 14 દિવસ માટે પાવર જનરેટ કરશે, પરંતુ વીજળી ઉત્પાદન પ્રક્રિયા રાત્રિના સમયે બંધ થઈ જશે. જો ત્યાં વીજ ઉત્પાદન ન હોય, તો ઇલેક્ટ્રોનિક્સ સખત ઠંડીનો સામનો કરી શકશે નહીં અને નુકસાન થશે.

CHANDRAYAN -3 'S REASEARCH ON MOONઅગાઉ 28 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ ચંદ્રયાન-3ના વિક્રમ લેન્ડર પર લાગેલા ચાસ્ટે (ChaSTE) પેલોડે ચંદ્રના તાપમાન સાથે સંબંધિત પ્રથમ અવલોકન મોકલ્યું હતું. ChaSTE એટલે કે લુનર સર્ફેસ થર્મોફિઝિકલ એક્સપેરિમેન્ટ મુજબ, ચંદ્રની સપાટી પર અને વિવિધ ઊંડાણો પર તાપમાનમાં ઘણો તફાવત છે. ચંદ્રના સાઉથ પોલની સપાટી પરનું તાપમાન લગભગ 50 ડીગ્રી સેલ્સિયસ છે, જ્યારે 80 મિમીની ઊંડાઈએ માઈનસ 10 ડીગ્રી સેલ્સિયસ તાપમાન નોંધાયું. ચેસ્ટમાં 10 તાપમાન સેન્સર છે, જે 10cm એટલે કે 100mmની ઊંડાઈ સુધી પહોંચી શકે છે. ChaSTE પેલોડને સ્પેસ ફિઝિક્સ લેબોરેટરી, VSSC દ્વારા ફિઝિકલ રિસર્ચ લેબોરેટરી, અમદાવાદના સહયોગથી વિકસાવવામાં આવ્યું છે.

ચંદ્રના દક્ષિણ ધ્રુવ પર સલ્ફરની હાજરી ચંદ્ર પર પહોંચવાના છઠ્ઠા દિવસે (ઓગસ્ટ 29) ચંદ્રયાને બીજું અવલોકન મોકલ્યું. આ મુજબ ચંદ્રના દક્ષિણ ધ્રુવ પર સલ્ફરની હાજરી છે. ચંદ્રની સપાટી પર એલ્યુમિનિયમ, કેલ્શિયમ, આયર્ન, ક્રોમિયમ, ટાઇટેનિયમની હાજરી પણ મળી આવી છે. આ ઉપરાંત ચંદ્રની માટીમાં મેંગેનીઝ, સિલિકોન અને ઓક્સિજન પણ હાજર છે, જ્યારે હાઈડ્રોજનની શોધ ચાલી રહી છે, એટલે કે ચંદ્રની માટીમાં અત્યારસુધીમાં કુલ 9 તત્ત્વ મળ્યાં છે. LIBS એટલે કે લેસર પ્રેરિત બ્રેકડાઉન સ્પેક્ટ્રોસ્કોપ પેલોડ પ્રજ્ઞાન રોવર પર માઉન્ટ થયેલાં છે આ અવલોકનો મોકલવામાં આવ્યાં છે. આ ઓક્સિજનમાંથી સીધો શ્વાસ લઈ શકાતો નથી જોકે ચંદ્રની ધરતી પર મળતો ઓક્સિજન એ સ્વરૂપમાં નથી કે સીધો શ્વાસ લઈ શકાય. એ ઓક્સાઇડ સ્વરૂપમાં છે. અગાઉ, નાસાએ પણ ચંદ્રની જમીનમાં ઓક્સિજનની શોધ કરી હતી. એટલા માટે ઈસરોને પહેલાંથી જ અહીં ઓક્સિજન મળે એવી શક્યતા હતી. ઓક્સાઇડ એ રાસાયણિક સંયોજનની શ્રેણી છે. એની રચનામાં તત્ત્વ સાથે એક અથવા વધુ ઓક્સિજન અણુઓ છે, જેમ કે Li2O, CO2, H2O, વગેરે. H2O એટલે પાણી. એટલા માટે ઇસરો હવે ઓક્સિજન મળ્યા બાદ H એટલે કે હાઇડ્રોજનની શોધ કરી રહ્યું છે.

ચંદ્રયાન-3ના પ્રજ્ઞાન રોવરે આજે સવારે વિક્રમ લેન્ડરની તસવીર ક્લિક કરી હતી. રોવર પર બે નેવિગેશન કેમેરા છે, જેમાંથી આ ફોટો ક્લિક કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. આ કેમેરા ચંદ્રયાન-3 મિશન માટે લેબોરેટરી ફોર ઇલેક્ટ્રો-ઓપ્ટિક્સ સિસ્ટમ્સ (LEOS) દ્વારા વિકસાવવામાં આવ્યા છે. ચંદ્રયાન-3નું લેન્ડર 23 ઓગસ્ટે સાંજે 6.4 કલાકે ચંદ્ર પર ઊતર્યું હતું. આ પછી રોવર બહાર આવ્યું. ઈસરોએ પુષ્ટિ કરી કે લેન્ડિંગના 14 કલાક પછી લેન્ડર રોવરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યું. રોવર ઓબ્જેક્ટ્સને સ્કેન કરવા માટે નેવિગેશન કેમેરાનો ઉપયોગ કરે છે.

The Lander will have the capability to soft land at a specified lunar site and deploy the Rover which will carry out in-situ chemical analysis of the lunar surface during the course of its mobility. The Lander and the Rover have scientific payloads to carry out experiments on the lunar surface. The main function of PM is to carry the LM from launch vehicle injection till final lunar 100 km circular polar orbit and separate the LM from PM. Apart from this, the Propulsion Module also has one scientific payload as a value addition which will be operated post separation of Lander Module.
